I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are th things I will do; I will not forsake them. – Isaiah 42: 16
Are you entering a new season in life, or have you been in the same season for quite a while now?
Our lives encompass different seasons. I believe there are times when God has us sit in a season for a while with purpose and reason, and other times where we seem to transition from season to season rather quickly.
If we are sitting in a familiar season or transitioning to another, however, I know one thing – God is always with us.
Personally, I feel like I have one foot in an older season, and the other foot is embarking on another. It’s as if I am straddling a line, only I am not clear on what this next season entails. What does God want for me here? What would He like to show me? I am not fully sure.
As my family embarks on the upcoming birth of our third child, my heart also leaps for the passions and dreams God has put in my heart regarding ministry. I’m somewhere in this transition, and if you feel something similar, know that you are not alone.
Whatever you may be facing today, you need to know that God is still holding your hand. He has not left you. He has always been right there with you – whether you have felt Him or not.

When we can’t feel God and seem to be in a land of confusion, it can be good to back up and reset with God – not for His sake, but for ours. Remind yourself that you have been made righteous, and that you have every right through the blood of Jesus to converse and live with God in every step of your journey.
He doesn’t expect you to figure everything out, nor will He often allow you to know all the details.
Don’t know where you are going? That is okay.
Go back to God, sit with Him, talk to Him, tell Him your thoughts and worries, and ask Him for guidance and wisdom in this time. Stay with Him and don’t be too eager to get up and walk away to find the path yourself.
In my life, I know what a new baby means— sweet cuddles, lots of love, diapers, and less sleep, but ultimately it is a time of cherishing new life and love. When other things in the world must stand still, what really matters can come forth.
What do you feel really matters in your life? When the distractions that surround us are muted, what remains?
If you are uncertain of your next step, stop and talk to God. Ask Him to tell you through the power of the Holy Spirit what your next move is, your next direction, and then trust God to pave the way for that direction – even if it looks like a jungle. He has the machete and the all the tools to get you there.
His purpose, birthed in us, can blossom into the most beautiful and surprising goals and seasons in our lives.
If this resonates with you, know that while I am praying for guidance myself, I will be praying the same for you as well. Remember, you don’t have to journey alone – you always have a traveling partner in God.
“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11
