Does Anyone Care?

Do you ever just need to know that someone cares about you or that situation you are facing?

As I was walking through a parking lot the other day, I came across 5 little birds prancing around the pavement.  They were so small, and my eyes honed in on one of them, and I just kept thinking how tiny the bird was – about the size of my fist.

Then I thought about the verse in Matthew that says that God cares about the little sparrow, so how much more does He care for us?

What is the price of two sparrows – one copper coin?  But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.  And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”  Matthew 10:29-31

Over and over, I kept thinking,

“He cares for the little sparrow, and He cares much more for me.

He cares for me.

He cares for me.”

As I continued walking to my car, the realization of that truth hit me, and right there in the parking lot, I began to tear up. In that moment, I felt seen by God. I felt known.

Something that seems trivial to others can actually be huge for us.

If, for example, we are concerned about one of our kids or our job, it can consume our thoughts.  We can find ourselves constantly mulling over thoughts about our child or job or whatever is bothering us.  Over and over, we mull.

But what if we kept mulling over this thought, “He cares for me.  He cares for me.  He cares for me.”  Often, our problem gets smaller as our perspective of God gets bigger.

Then the truth would hit our hearts as we thought – He cares for the sparrow – of course He cares for me – and my kid, and my job, etc.

What is bothering you?  It’s on the tip of your mind.  What is it?

Now say, “God cares about ___________ (insert that thing here)_____.”

The Bible says that God knows your requests and thoughts before you ever mention them.

“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do.  They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.  Don’t be like them, for your Father
knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!” Matthew 6:7-8

He knows all about that problem or concern, and He is waiting for you to pull Him into it.  Why?  Because He cares about you.

When no one else will listen, He will.

When no one else thinks it’s a big deal, He will listen to you…because…He cares.

Anything that is consuming our minds or troubling us, He wants us to give that concern to Him.  It is not your weight to bear.

If you need a release from that problem that is plaguing your mind, you can say this prayer:

Prayer: Lord, I can’t stop thinking about _______________.  I need your help to ease my mind.  I cast this care over to you because I trust that you care for me.  I ask for your hand to be on this situation and take the reigns.  Thank you for caring for me and my life.  Nothing is too small for you.  You are the way maker!

Dry your eyes, Friend, and receive a big hug because He cares for you!
